Wheels of steel grinding down rusty railway tracks is but one of the pictures the new album of Geneva-based experimental HipHop group FEROCIOUS 41 evokes. "THE NIGHT JUST BEFORE THE DRUM THING" has more faces than that, though. Both rattling bones and droppings nails, both burning mother-boards and twisted circuits seem to be fostering a sound defined by mainly industrial aesthetics.
With their sophomore, Fai (rap), Netchaiev (rap) and Art Karoll (beats, saxofone) are moving to a new level with their dirty sketch of a hiphop to come and they do it without stepping away from where they stared with their debut "BEHEMOTH STYLE". FEROCIOUS 41 are still working on a meltdown of equally disturbing and comforting parts, sounds and feelings."THE NIGHT JUST BEFORE THE DRUM THING" is not only a proof of that. Their latest release is also a proof of a hiphop scene that not even thinks about perpetually reproducing clichés. A scene, that is interested in the new, and the unexpected without negating the importance of the danceability Emma Goldmann held so dear in her heart.
"behemoth style" was recorded and mixed by S.Mellah at RVK lighthouse studios, Geneva. mastering was done at glenn schick studios, atlanta, GA for a heavy load bass.
"THE NIGHT JUST BEFORE THE DRUMTHING" is released on 500 digipak-CDs.
this record is going to be distributed by Irascible in Switzerland.
